Community Action Team

The CAT committee is a group of Wabasca community and area agencies, groups, & people that meet ounce a month to work together to take action for community concerns. This meeting has a regular group size of about 20 but there are almost 50 groups involved. Everyone and every group or agency can come to the meetings.

MISSION STATEMENT
‘Community Action Team (CAT) is a collaborative
and proactive community-wide team
that focuses on the well-being of all community
members in the areas of human and
resource development.’


VISION STATEMENT
‘Community Action Team (CAT) will work towards
resource sharing to support and promote:
-healthy individuals & families,
-healthy, skilled & safety-oriented labor force
(covering all occupations),
-literacy and continued education,
-building partnerships.’


MEETING RULES

Ground Rules for RESPECT:
  • Chance to say their peace – everyone.
  • Stay on topic.
  • Consensus decisions – accepting vs. agreeing.
  • Brainstorm – everything counts.
  • Attend meetings.
  • Non-judgmental approach.
  • Closing remarks/evaluation of accomplishment.
  • Accountability.
  • Vigilant/Pay attention.
Ground Rules for PROCEDURE:
  • Set agenda.
  • Produce notes of meeting.
  • Set meeting dates and deadlines; facilitators & note-takers alternating.(See MEETINGS below)
  • Always attend or send alternate.
  • At end of meeting: Closing remarks, evaluation of progress and accomplishments.
  • Accountability – vigilant.
  • Provide recognition and support for one another.
  • Right to ‘pass’/support to return.
  • Cell phones off.
  • On time.
  • Respect time-frame for meeting; always end no later than noon.
  • NEW RULE - Bring Writen Notes for Note Taker!

    Meetings - Once a month – ˝ day (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon)
    – 1st Tuesday of each month unless stated otherwise.
